The Pokémon BREAKthrough Booster Box marked another major innovation for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. This expansion introduced the first BREAK Pokémon—a new card type that allowed existing Pokémon to evolve further and gain extra power without losing their previous attacks. As such, BREAKthrough marks the beginning of a completely new chapter in the XY series.

The set also features an impressive selection of popular Pokémon. Mewtwo-EX is undoubtedly the star of the expansion, with several sought-after versions, including a beautiful Secret Rare. Cards featuring Mega Mewtwo X-EX, Mega Mewtwo Y-EX, Zoroark BREAK, and Chesnaught BREAK also make this set appealing to collectors. Thanks to the introduction of the BREAK mechanic, the strong focus on Mewtwo, and the versatile card list, the Pokémon BREAKthrough Booster Box has become a beloved expansion within the XY era.
