The first expansion of the Black & White series marked a complete reset: with the exception of the Secret Rare Pikachu, all cards in the set feature exclusively fifth-generation Pokémon from the unexplored Unova region. More than seventy Pokémon made their TCG debut here, ranging from the starters Serperior, Emboar, and Samurott to fan favorites like Zoroark and Reuniclus. The game also underwent major changes with the introduction of Abilities, which combined the long-standing Poké-Powers and Poké-Bodies into a single new mechanic. The card design was completely revamped with yellow borders and a modern layout. The set contains 115 cards, and each booster box includes 36 packs of 10 cards.
