The Pokémon Fossil BodyGuard Theme Deck takes you back to 1999 and the early years of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. This pre-built deck from the Fossil expansion consists of 60 cards and focuses primarily on Grass- and Fighting-type Pokémon. The standout card is a Holo Rare Muk from Fossil, complemented by Pokémon such as Grimer, Zubat, Golbat, Geodude, Graveler, Koffing, Bulbasaur, and Onix. In addition to Pokémon, the deck includes various Trainer cards and Grass and Fighting Energy, which meant BodyGuard could be played right out of the box back then.
As an original Wizards of the Coast Theme Deck, BodyGuard is primarily a highly nostalgic collector’s item today. The product was released on October 10, 1999, and originally came with damage counters, a rulebook, a card checklist, and a special holographic Aerodactyl coin. Together with LockDown, BodyGuard formed the pair of Theme Decks in the Fossil series. The distinctive vintage packaging, fixed decklist, and Holo Muk make a sealed copy particularly appealing to collectors of early Pokémon products, the Fossil series, and the classic WOTC era.
