The Pokémon Jungle Water Blast Theme Deck is the Dutch version of the classic Water Blast Theme Deck from the Jungle series. This vintage Pokémon TCG release dates back to 1999 and was released during the early Wizards of the Coast era. Water Blast consists of a pre-built deck of 60 cards featuring primarily Water- and Fighting-type Pokémon. One of the most important cards in the deck is Vaporeon from Jungle, complemented by cards such as Rhyhorn, Meowth, and various Trainer and Energy cards. Originally, the Theme Deck came with game accessories such as damage counters, a Pokémon coin, rules, and a card list.
What makes this edition particularly interesting is the Dutch-language packaging and cards. Dutch Pokémon products from the WOTC era were distributed on a much smaller scale than their English-language counterparts and are now highly sought after by collectors of vintage Pokémon TCG. The name “Waterstraal” is the official Dutch translation of “Water Blast.” Especially as a sealed product, this Jungle Theme Deck is a wonderful piece of nostalgia from the early years of Pokémon in the Netherlands and Belgium. For collectors of Dutch cards, Jungle products, or original Theme Decks, “Waterstraal” is therefore a standout addition to any vintage Pokémon collection.
